The Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) is pleased to announce a call for MARN CREATIVE STUDENTS, CREATIVE, and CREATIVE BUSINESS Members residing within Southeast Wisconsin to sell small works on consignment in the MARN MARKETPLACE for the 2022 Cycle 2 running June 5 to October 6, 2022. The MARN MARKETPLACE is a curated retail art market located within the MARN ART + CULTURE HUB on 191 N Broadway, Suite #102. The initiative strives to support MARN Members as a consignment platform for small works & artisan goods. Memberships must be in good standing before the call closes to qualify.

MARN seeks artists with collections and limited editions of small works, artisan goods, prints, zines, publications, and more to be sold in-person at the MARN MARKETPLACE and online on marnarts.org. Examples of goods to sell include but are not limited to jewelry, postcards, apparel, hand-made objects, plushies, home décor, ceramics, zines, publications, stickers, and small prints.

Selected artists have had success in the past with items such as prints, stickers, greeting cards, and other small handmade items priced from $4 - $75. Jewelry that has a strong and consistent brand aesthetic, prints and posters that are packaged professionally, and items that have informational tags attached to artwork have consistently sold more work. For more information on recommendations on packaging or submissions, see “Submission Specifics” below. MARN recommends items are no larger than 15” x 15” x 15” each; exceptions may be considered for nontraditional pieces. MARN also recommends that the artist submit works with a variation and not one repeatable work (items with no real difference in colors, styles, sizes, or themes).

As the current MARKETPLACE consignment draws to a close on June 5th, we ask that current MARKETPLACE artists reapply to continue selling their work in the MARN ART + CULTURE HUB. Previous and current MARKETPLACE Artists are recommended to apply with new items not previously exhibited in the MARKETPLACE in previous cycles. Please note that new artists will be prioritized in order to give everyone an equal opportunity to sell and display their work at MARN.
